This mixed-media portrait captures Shaun Alexander during his dominant run with the Seattle Seahawks, following his 2005 MVP season and appearance in Super Bowl XL. The 16" x 20" piece combines precisely detailed colored pencil work with a flowing watercolor background, where team colors were applied to wet paper and manipulated with alcohol droplets to create organic patterns. This technique represents Fall's exploration of more efficient approaches to background creation while maintaining the photorealistic detail in his subject matter.
