This mixed-media portrait celebrates Ronaldo's historic achievement at the 2006 World Cup, where he became the tournament's all-time leading scorer with his 15th career World Cup goal. The 16" x 20" piece combines precisely detailed colored pencil work with a flowing watercolor background, where Brazil's national colors were applied to wet paper and manipulated with alcohol droplets to create organic patterns. This technique represents Fall's exploration of more efficient approaches to background creation while maintaining the photorealistic detail in his subject matter.
