This mixed-media portrait captures LaDainian Tomlinson during his historic 2006 season with the San Diego Chargers, when he set the single-season touchdown record and earned MVP honors. The 16" x 20" piece combines precisely detailed colored pencil work with a flowing watercolor background, where team colors were applied to wet paper and manipulated with alcohol droplets to create organic patterns. This technique represents Fall's exploration of more efficient approaches to background creation while maintaining the photorealistic detail in his subject matter.
