This mixed-media portrait commemorates Barry Bonds' historic 756th home run with the San Francisco Giants, breaking Hank Aaron's all-time home run record in 2007. The 16" x 20" piece combines precisely detailed colored pencil work with a flowing watercolor background, where Giants colors were applied to wet paper and manipulated with alcohol droplets to create organic patterns. This technique represents Fall's exploration of more efficient approaches to background creation while maintaining the photorealistic detail in his subject matter.
